Retired farmer harvests wind and solar.

Take it to the country.

This retired executive wanted to add a wind and PV mix of renewable energy to his hobby farm.

His house in the city was site constrained. So he opted to install systems at his farm to offset the electrical use of both his home and farm.

Now his farm is a net exporter of power back to the grid. His wind and sun harvest adds to his farming operation -- becoming a mini-utility.

Keeping it local.

Since their factory was located in nearby Minneapolis, a 20 kW unit from Jacobs was chosen. Their 120ʼ tower maximized production on this rolling hill farmstead with its tall tree-lined wind break.

Jacobs offers an integrated turbine and tower package -- featuring a next-generation Nexus inverter made for this generator.

With an average hub wind speed of 12 mph, the turbine can produce 25,000 kWh per year.

No job too tough.

It was a rough and bumpy road to install.

While excavating, the crew found fractured shale 3 feet below grade! Looks like bigger Tonka toys were going to be needed.

The entire electrical service was reconfigured for the 20 kW of wind and 5 kW of solar PV. The state electrical inspector and the local utility both lauded the workmanship of our team.

Take the guess work out of your project.
