Twenty-kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays will be popping up all over the state, as 18 of Great River Energy’s (GRE) 28 member cooperatives, for which it produces power, diversify their energy generation with solar. On top of the 20Kw base systems GRE will own and operate for each coop, individual coops have the option to add additional PV for community solar gardens. The Made in Minnesota Solar Incentive Program is Back for Year 2!

Made in Minnesota (MiM) is a solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal incentive program that gives rebates to consumers based on the performance of the system aka how many kilowatt hours (kWh) produced in a year (PV) or the size of the system (thermal). MiM’s true purpose is to create jobs while making Minnesota greener and lowering the cost of Minnesota manufactured solar products. Run by the Department of Commerce – Division of Energy Resources and legislated to last 10 years, $15 million is available annually for rebates with $250,000 set aside for solar thermal.
