This Energy Star-rated $1.5M residential construction project incorporates one of the largest residential solar hot water systems in the Upper Midwest.
With the house being new construction, the solar system was closely coordinated with the architectural design.
We installed 525 Evergreen 190 modules on the roof of the Merrick Building in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota — the 2nd largest solar installation in the state.
The project was almost completely financed by Xcel Energy ($735,000) through a community grant initiative.
“Make decisions today to benefit children seven generations into the future.”
That principle was underscored in this impressive project that featured both a 20kW solar electric system and a large solar thermal system.
The Spruce Tree solar project was the first of an initiative to establish a solar corridor along the new light rail line along University Avenue.
The project was substantially subsidized by Xcel — in order to demonstrate the viability of larger solar electric systems in Minnesota.
This international client was well-researched. He sought us out for one reason: we are the area’s premier SunPower dealer.
His investigation led him to conclude that SunPower really is “the planet’s most powerful solar.” When he discovered our engineering roots, his decision was clear.
