As 2011 winds down, we want to offer a brief update. At the federal level, the 30% tax credit for personal and business is still in effect for 2012. The MACRS depreciation in 2012 is still in affect as well for business’s with an added 1st year 50% bonus depreciation.
SunPower has begun designing a 13.78MW solar power plant at the navy base in China Lake, California with the intention of breaking ground next month and to be in operation at the end of next year. The project will feature SunPower Oasis Power Plants.
Their new Council Bluffs building features a 9.4 kW photovoltaic system, a solar hot water system for the domestic hot water usage, as well as a ground source heat pump system for the common areas heating and cooling.
This Energy Star-rated $1.5M residential construction project incorporates one of the largest residential solar hot water systems in the Upper Midwest.
With the house being new construction, the solar system was closely coordinated with the architectural design.
SunPower’s “Season of Giving” now helps powers a substantial portion of the electricity needed to power the Jusst Sooup Ranch kitchen that is operated by Rev. Dale Dunning of Lewes, Delaware.
